Bull Hunters

BullHunters.Sand19.jpg

A composition of my own based on cave art from southern France and northern Spain. The bull is an aurochs,
an ancestor of  Spain's fighting bulls, a six-foot tall monster that lived in the forests of Europe until the 1600's.

This design is meant to be a  "fragment" from a lost cave.

Airbrush and sgraffito on sandstone.
This sandstone has a beautiful subtle play of metallic mica shimmering on the surface..

Size  approx. 12" x 14.25"

A smaller version on a beautful multi-colored piece of quartzite.
Swirls of gold, silver and bronze with tiny black freckles make a rich background for the figures.
